Better to burn... Than to fade away!
The Deep End's last year....
Well, 2008 is a very special year for us. After 7 unbelievable (are you kidding me?) years of high spirits and deep grooves, and with much consideration, we're making this our Big Bang year…the last yearof the Deep End as you know it. THE LAST TIME to turn up the volume on the decks and sling some fantabulous slushies and watch you dance your costumed arses off! Big Bang is exactly what we're bringing this year and we're boundless with smile and spirit in doing so.
But we aren't going to say, "It's been a great run" quite yet. 2008 IS going to be the very best year ever…It's difficult to explain, but in making this very hard decision, it's renewed an energy and excitement that's supercharging everyone. Spirits are sky high. It's time to make it happen…and we can't do it without you! So, here's what we want:
#1 – We want you on the playa with us!!! We want stories! We want smiles!! We want drinks in hand, freak on face, and feet on beat to the most epic day music camp on the playa!
#2 – We want you to come help us raise fun(ds) to make this, our last year, the BEST year ever!

#3 - We want you to recruit anyone who is fencing on going to BM to come celebrate the past 7 amaaaaaaaazing years of The Deep End and the spirits that made it happen. We want to celebrate you!
We want to celebrate memories and make new ones that top them all! As we retire to enjoy the playa with other camps and in a new incantation, we want to celebrate with each and every person who's loved us so well the past 7 years.
Here's the BUT….but! We are drastically behind the 8-ball on fundraising. Whether Christian writes the math of the situation or I write in verse, the situation is the same…we are in dire need of funds to make this year happen - to make the sands fly with the beats you've come to love and the drinks that cool your hands. These guys put forth unbelievable efforts of pure giving all day, every day for 8 days: schlep up & back with trucks and trailers, construct in the hottest of rays and dustiest of storms, bartend for 6 hours, clean up whilst we ride off in the sunset towards our next goals, and all with smiles and the spirit of giving back.
Here's the rub: If you haven't paid your camp dues and you're camping with us or across the street (still us!) or just drinking/bouncing with us each day please consider that $120 is truly a bargain for the gift you receive/have received in memories. I can't wait to see all of you. I can't wait for the hugs. I can't wait to send THE DEEP END off into the sky with the very spirit they created 7 years ago for us all to enjoy.

Construction help!! We still are in need of help with construction, both now in preparation, and on the playa. There's nothing like the full experience of setting up the camp and seeing it flourish. Heineken photos from the Deep End Last Year Desperately Needed!! Heineken light donated a very large amount of their product to us last year, and we have no proof that thousands of people were enjoying it on the playa. If you have any pictures that have people drinking Heinekens out there, particularly if the Deep End signage is visible too - please send them to us. piperhook@gmail.com
Girls Gone Deep Dancers!! It's that time! The ladies are collecting for our last year of burlesque and booty dancing! It's a blast & always the best ladeez on the playa to call your friends. Looking for a Few Good Yattamen - The Yatta Dancers Last Hurrah...or is it?...Hey boys out there that think you have a groove or two. Contrary to popular belief the Yatta Dancers do accept new dancers each year who have the BALLS to step it up and have the fortitude to practice with a bunch of men in underwear.
